Crowning…

We couldn’t let the occasion pass without putting on our own coronation, for our Queen of the May! Our volunteers contributed a floral crown and robes and it took a few minutes to get ready. Then, at noon, our Queen was crowned and greeted with poetry:

“Hail, bounteous May that dost inspire

Mirth, and youth, and warm desire…”

The acclamation followed, then the new Queen processed around the orchard and garden, blessing the trees and plants. We are indeed blessed with lovely volunteers and gorgeous apple trees, and grateful for these opportunities to celebrate nature and community, and tradition!
