AGM 2023 Annual Report


28 September 2022 : We partnered with the Eric Liddell gardening project, and Fiona Brown brought learners to the garden on Wednesdays to study plants, and some of our members came along too.
10 October : Young people from St Thomas Aquin High School came to plant bulbs in our new wildflower bed
5 November : We started planting our new hedges
12 November : Some of us joined the COP 27 march with banners and met up outside the Scottish Parliament
November also saw the creation of a new bed for growing veg, and work on the compost area
17 December : Christmas Party, organised by Tricia

January 2023 saw further work on the compost area, and the erection of an arch, mainly by Chung and Anne-Laure.
23 January : The Thich Nhat Nanh memorial tree was planted by the Interfaith Association
1st March – Planning Day
1st April : RHS Big Seed Sow, deferred to the next Saturday on account of the weather
12 April : Chung and Sarah led our pitch for a Tool Library Community Build
15 May : 3 x P4 classes from Sciennes Primary School came to make markers for our plants
24 June Refugee Week : Patty organised a Heart for Hope event
22 July : Tara organised our pop-up Art in the Park event
12 August – Environment Day : Jeff Rogers travelled from Aberdeen to talk about Scotland’s Energy Transmission; the event was supported by Stitch It Don’t Ditch it, and the Shrub lent us their gazebo
16 September : We welcomed the Tool Library Community Build team to the garden, to build another arch and two more benches.
23 September: Seed gathering started
30 September : Apple Picking afternoon, with some pruning
26 October: visit by P4 class from Sciennes. Leaf gathering session.
